Malc from the Northern Team asks : "I'm worried
about the low ball flight I have and the ability to stop the ball on links
greens, what flavour of crisps should I be eating and what is the optimum number
of bags per day?
Dr. Pete says : Malc, From
your question, I’m not sure if, in your own mind, you are making a linkage
between your crisp eating habits and your ability to stop the ball on the
green. For me this is a sign of some more serious, deep rooted, issues in your
psychological make up that will take me some time to resolve. In saying that
however it is true that crisp eating does have its place in the preparation for
the Poor Man’s Ryder and I suggest you take your lead from the Paterson’s in
upping your intake significantly over the next few months. Anyway having
considered your problem I’ve decided a new crisp based diet is in
order:
Breakfast
- Bin your rabbit food muesli (in my opinion the damage that is doing to you is
untold) and instead have 2 packets of Smokey Bacon crisps + a can of Irn
Bru.
Lunch
– 2 packets of Golden Wonder Sausage & Tomato (these are quite hard to find
but I have an exclusive supply line set up if you need help) + Another can of
Irn Bru
Dinner
- 1 portion of Pakora (I know it’s not crisps but it is just as good for you) +
2 packets of Pickled Onion + Bottle of Irn Bru.
It is
important you follow this religiously and I am convinced you will notice the
difference in your golf game very soon! As an added bonus it will also help
expand your waistline, as you have some way to go to reach the entry standard
set by your colleagues in the Fatties Team.
Pete
Next, Big D from the Southern Team asks: "This picture was taken of me at Brora. Am I right to be concerned?"
Dr. Pete says "My initial reaction, as I’m sure you can imagine, was one of astonishment and I
have to admit I became a bit downhearted thinking of the effort required to
resolve the situation. However, to my relief, I quickly realised that, whilst
the photo of David appears to be of him driving off, he is quite obviously
talking advantage from a break in play (no doubt caused by Hammy’s slow play) to
practice his Hammer Throwing technique in advance of the upcoming Olympic Games.
Not being an expert in that area I have sent the photo to one of my colleagues
in Team GB and he thinks David could have some real potential in this
discipline. Anyway in closing it is fair to say my work with David over the
coming weeks will be focussed almost entirely on the mental side of the game –
the area he has most need to improve.

I would like to ask Pete how two guys can play the same pairing for almost 30 years and almost always beat them, no matter the course, conditions or form of players. He must have some advise for these sad Sumos. Did not get the payback you hoped for Malc!
ReplyDeleteEasy answer to that question. The 2 sumos in question do not have, and never have had, a strong man.
DeleteI would like to ask Pete if he has been putting the hours in on the practice ground this year. Expected this year to rise to the top !
